Health conscience people are on the loose and water has become an important factor in our health. Now families on a budget can get a water filter of some sort so they can enjoy healthy water.

I have reviewed many brands of filters and have found the basic general information from about all of them.

The faucet mount system runs about $25 and comes with 1 original filter.

Replacement filters are about $15 each and you can buy them in a multiple pack which means you will always have one ready when your filter is done and they are cheaper by buying more than one at a time. Water is filtered through the oval cylinder which houses the filter and comes out a small pea size hole. This does reduce the pressure of the water which in turn will take longer for a glass to fill.

The second faucet mount is one with a side button which turns instead of the whole unit and water is dispensed from the faucet rather than the small hole within the filter. Water comes out quicker from a larger hole. This unit is a little more expensive at $39.99 but you do not have to worry about flipping the unit up and down. The replacement filters are the same at about $15 each and cheaper if you buy in a quantity pack.

The under sink filter is actually quite easy to install. You just need to make a little extra space under the sink cabinet but still will have room for some storage items. This unit costs about $89 and the filter replacements are $35. This filters about 200 gallons which will give quality water for about 4-6 months.

The pitcher is the most reasonably priced at $9.99 for the 1 gallon. You can buy different versions of the filter which can cost more. These other pitchers have a few more bells and whistles on them such as a digital readout, more capacity and one even has a flavor addition to the filter which is pretty cool. These other versions can vary in price from $22 to $29 for the fancy models. The replacement filters for the pitchers are about $9.99.

I tested all of them and like the undersink version the best as I don’t have to fill a pitcher all the time or not have filtered water when it was empty. The faucet mount can be cumbersome at the sink.

There are many choices for a family to have a water filter.
